As a wedding photographer based in North Devon, I've spent countless days exploring this beautiful corner of the South West, camera in hand and more often than not, sand in my shoes.
One of the things I absolutely love most about North Devon is just how much choice there is. You can get married overlooking the sea, celebrate in a stunning country house, or turn it into a full weekend away with all your favourite people. Honestly, it's a bit selfish hogging all the best places!!

Tunnels Beaches, Ilfracombe
Tunnels Beaches is probably one of the most recognisable wedding venues in Devon, and honestly, it's hard not to fall in love with it.
You walk through hand-carved tunnels and suddenly you're standing on your own private beach surrounded by dramatic cliffs. It feels like you've discovered a secret little corner of the world.

Ash Barton Estate
Ash Barton Estate is perfect if the idea of your wedding is more weekend long party with everyone you love… and less "formal event".
It’s got such a relaxed feel. In the summer… think lawn games, drinks in the sunshine and dancing long after you're supposed to have gone to bed.

Rockbeare Manor
Now, I know this one isn't technically in North Devon, but it's simply too beautiful not to mention.
Rockbeare Manor is one of those venues that somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly welcoming. You get all the elegance of a country manor house without any stuffiness.

From a photography perspective, it's an absolute dream. The staircase alone is worth getting excited about, and the evening light across the grounds is gorgeous.
The Green
Again, not technically North Devon - or even Devon for that matter! But another fave venue of mine where you instantly feel at home.
Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, it's relaxed, beautifully designed and feels like the perfect place for a weekend wedding. You can make a proper getaway of it with your nearest and dearest.

Watermouth Cove
If you love the coast but want something a little more tucked away, Watermouth Cove is absolutely stunning.
It has that rugged North Devon beauty that makes you stop and say, "Yep, this is why we got married here."

The Big Picture: Why North Devon Works So Well
What makes North Devon so special isn't just the venues themselves. It's the feeling of the place.
Things seem to slow down a little here. There's more time for long hugs, glasses of fizz in the sunshine and those little moments you didn't realise were happening until you see them in your photographs later.
From a photography point of view, that's where the magic lives. Not in perfectly posed moments, but in the laughter, the happy tears and the slightly wonky dance moves after a few drinks.
