Paul & Nich

Like many couples last year, Nich and Paul had to make some changes to their original wedding day plans to meet Government Legislation due to Covid-19.
Nich and Paul had planned a full wedding day with 44 of their guests at The Green, Cornwall. A fun filled day with all of their family and friends celebrating their love for one another. 2020 had other plans!
They rearranged their day to marry in Liskeard Registry Office and continue the celebrations with their family at their house, after some time with me pointing a camera in their face obvs!
Pot of gold at the bottom of the rainbow!
I was pleasantly surprised how lovely the registry office building was, with a huge garden to the rear and some gorgeous stone steps leading up to the building, I had struck gold! I couldn’t wait to get these guys out here and start snapping.
I got to know Nich and Paul’s family and some of Nich’s girlfriends (apparently the worst kept secret that they were coming – laughing face emoji) whilst soaking up the September sun and waiting for Nich to arrive.
As soon as Nich stepped out of the car she sparkled! And I don’t just mean her dress, which was absolutely gorgeous by the way, from Needle and Thread London. Her smile was beaming from ear to ear when clocking eyes with her Groom, Paul and I could instantly see the love they hold for one another.
I now pronounce you, Husband and Wife
Yaaaay, they did it! Their daughters clapped, their guests outside (peering through the bay window who could watch and listen to it all) cheered and Nich and Paul snogged (love heart emoji). After all their stresses of whether they would be able to get married, where they were able to get married, they were finally, MARRIED – and even though we’d only just properly met, I couldn’t have been happier for them. They just fit.
After some family photos in the garden it was time to capture just the two of them. Check this out, Paul said he doesn’t like having his photo taken! GQ magazine eat your heart out.
We had quite a few laughs along the way; I could have photographed them all day. After the garden we popped over to Minions on Bodmin Moor.
A positive for having a COVID wedding like this (I really should stop saying COVID and positive in the same sentence!!), was that we were able to take our time with the photos, we could go wherever we wanted, there was no time pressure to get back for the wedding breakfast and for the Bride and Groom to mingle with their guests.
Paul and Nich have arranged a Wedding Blessing at their original venue, The Green Cornwall for September 2021 with all their guests. I’ve already asked their photographer, Mark from Evolve Photography if he wants a second shooter as I know this day is going to be so fun!
Congratulations both of you and all the very best for your blessing and of course, the rest of your lives together! I can't thank you enough for choosing me to capture your special day during a pandemic - you guys and the other couples who altered their plans to still get married this year kept my little business running through all this and I will be forever grateful.
