I'm back baby!

Updated: Jun 23

Ahhh I can't tell you how good it felt to be photographing a wedding, words won't do the feeling justice BUT I was also scared. Maybe scared is the wrong word, I was nervous, excited nervous. I had to check I had all my equipment and back ups sooo many times!! But you know what?! I love that nervous feeling. It keeps me from becoming complaisant, keeps me on my toes, it shows I care and I want to do the best job I can for my couples.

So after I had checked my equipment, batteries and memory cards for what must've been the 5th time that hour, I set of to Liskeard to meet my couple.

Fourth time lucky?

It was FOURTH time lucky for Sophie and Andrew but finally on the 29th April 2021 they became Husband and Wife. They married at The Green Cornwall in Liskeard with one of their Whippets, Wilma, in attendance and live streaming to their friends and family back home.

You couldn’t help but feel the love and emotion radiating from them as they took it in turns to say their vows, a wonderful moment and one I felt honoured to be part of.

Following the ceremony, it was time to take a stroll around the beautiful grounds of the venue and take some snaps! I loved that Sophie and Andrew are very ‘outdoorsy’ and up for anything, they also had some ideas of their own for their photos.

Are you okay?!!!!

It was the time of year that the bluebells out were in full force and Sophie had an idea for a bluebell photo but it meant walking down quite a steep section to get to a beautiful space between two trees (Sophie had changed into some flat shoes by this point!). So down they headed! I might’ve caught on camera Sophie slipping down the bank (oh my gosh, oh my gosh, are you ok?!) but I won’t share that one with you 😉 the dress was unharmed btw! I think it was worth the trip, (pardon the pun) don’t you?

I can't stop snapping...

I am LOVING capturing these more intimate ceremonies. Being completely selfish – it gives me so much more time with you guys! We can spend at least an hour wandering around your venue, taking gorgeous photos of you both and take our time doing so, not having to rush back to see other guests and be in time for your wedding breakfast.

BUT mostly, it’s so wonderful seeing just the two of you celebrate the love you hold for one another. Just focussing on each other and making that commitment to one another, regardless of a global pandemic going on! For this day, nothing else matters. Love reigns.

Congratulations again to Sophie & Andy (and your gorgeous fur babies Wilma and Graham).

I wish you a lifetime of fun, happiness and love.

Love, Snapdragon xx
